James Bay Concert

Toronto Skyline

James Bay
Hey guys!
Long time no talk, I know.
Remember in my last post I mentioned I was going to see James Bay in concert?! Well that day was this past Wednesday, and let me just tell you how freaking amazing he was!! He opened with "Collide," which I think was a great rock and roll song to get the crowd going. He played 14 songs and they were all great. He is one of those artists that sound even better live than they do recorded. I'm even more obsessed with his songs now than I was before, and I definitely want to go see him again next time he is in Toronto. Can I also say how much I enjoyed Toronto?! I go to TO often, but I have never stayed there over night. My roommates and I went for dinner at a really nice restaurant that we accidentally walked into just to get out of the rain. $36 for 9 ravioli and 1 glass of wine later, we were on our way to the show. The concert was at Sound Academy, which is by the shoreline of Toronto Harbour, so while we were waiting in line we had a really nice view of the CN Tower and the city. After the show we walked around for probably 20 minutes in the rain, along with the thousands of other people, trying to get a cab home. Once we finally made it home, I took off my shoes, which were absolutely killing my feet!, and jumped right into bed. We stayed at my roommate's sister's apartment, and I fell asleep watching planes take off from Pearson Airport. I loved it!
Let me know in the comments who is your favourite band/artist that you've seen play live?

Tuesday's Tunes

 Hi! Hope everyone is well!

As I've come across some good music lately, I thought I'd share in this little post!
Firstly, is James Bay, who I came across earlier this year, but only listened to a few songs, which became my favourites, "Let It Go" and "Hold Back the River." However, when my roommate told me he will be having a concert at a city near by, we decided we must attend. Therefore, I have been listening to his album, "Chaos and the Calm," literally non stop on Spotify. To me, James has a bit of an "Ed Sheeran" sound, so I am obsessed with the whole album, and I CANNOT wait to see him play live. PS. He's not bad on the eyes either ;)

Yesterday, I finally decided to listen to Halsey after hearing about her multiple times on YouTubers, Meghan Hughes and Kristen Vetter's vlog channels, and I do like her sound. I see her having a bit of a "Lorde" sound to her music which I like, she is also very honest in her lyrics. My current favourite songs are "Gasoline" and "Colors."

Let me know in the comments if you like James Bay and Halsey too, or if you just listened for the first time, and/or music suggestions you have for me!!
Happy listening,
Lara.

Back to School Shopping

Hi guys!
Like many others, I head back to school in a little less than two weeks, so I've started my back to school shopping. I went to my local mall last week and picked up a few things to get me started. Please keep in mind I am in university so I can basically wear whatever I want, however, I understand a lot of schools have dress codes (I wore a uniform for all of high school.)
In the top left hand corner I have the Lululemon Run Times Short ($58CAD.) I absolutely love these!! My sister came home with a pair, and then my mom got them so I figured I had to have them! They are so comfortable and I even wear them to work because I work in an outdoor food market and it gets very hot, and I also bike there most days. I have also ran in them a few times and they are very light so you hardly know they are there haha. I cannot say enough good things about these!
The top right hand corner is the Mac Pro Longwear Concealer in NW15 ($28ishCAD.) It's not often I run out of concealer and foundation at the same time, but this was an exception. I was previously using a Quo foundation which I liked but I wanted to try something new. While Mac was out of my foundation colour at the time, they just restocked and I bought the Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation in NW15 ($32CAD) and I really like it. I have super oily skin and I find this foundation keeps me matte, and even dries matte after sweating which is a huge bonus. I enjoy the concealer for covering blemishes, as well as the bags under my eyes.
Below the concealer is polarized sunglasses from Roots. I have been searching for polarized sunglasses for so long as my eyes are super sensitive, but struggled to find some I really liked. These were also pretty affordable for $55 CAD.
In the middle is the Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black Rollerball. I have been after a new scent and this is comparable to "Black Orchid" by Tom Ford. It's a mix of Violet, Sandalwood, and Vanilla, which creates a sexy stronger scent that I really enjoy!
To the left is a pair of medium wash American Eagle Jeggings. These have rips down both knees which I really like, and I have been looking for a pair this colour to add to my collection. Perfect for back to school!
Lastly, is a cropped turtleneck tank from H&M. I'm not sure if I can pull this off but I think it will look nice with high waisted jeans for a night out.
This is just a few things I have picked up for going back to school. I hope you have enjoyed what I have shared, and please leave me a comment and I will get back to you!!

About Me: HEY GUYS!!

Hi Everyone!!
I'm so excited to be blogging again! I've tried it out two other times but never stuck with it, and lately I have found myself missing it so much, so, I have created this new blog dedicated to things that I enjoy--things that make me happy, quotes that inspire me, food that I crave, clothes that I love, and everything in between. I'm really interested in the "lifestyle" aspect of blogging and that is what I want this blog to display.
I feel like I should do a quick FAQ about myself so you know who is talking...
